Cyberpunk 2077 Players Have Been Able to Get Refunds from CD Projekt Red and Keep the Game
While information technology was ane of the near predictable games to release last yr,Cyberpunk 2077 had a noticeably rocky launch last month that came with waves of controversy. Because of the game'southward shaky performance (especially on older PS4 and Xbox One hardware), the reaction toCyberpunk 2077's launch prompted several apologies from developer CD Projekt Red, lawsuits, its removal from the PlayStation Store, and a complicated state of affairs around requesting refunds. Since then, CD Projekt Cherry-red is seeming to make practiced on its promise of refunding players unhappy with the game's performance, with some players even getting to keep the game itself subsequently.
In a report fromVICE Games' Patrick Klepek, several players ofCyberpunk 2077 detailed their experiences of requesting refunds for the game from CD Projekt Red. And then far, several players have noted that CD Projekt Red has refunded them through PayPal, and surprisingly, many players have mentioned that the studio either hasn't requested them to return their concrete copies or revoked digital licenses on consoles or PC.

One player that spoke toVICE Games mentioned that they were able to keep the contents of Cyberpunk's $250 collector'due south edition including the game itself, even later showing proof of purchase and receiving a total refund from CD Projekt Scarlet. Another noted that so far the studio hasn't revoked admission to their digital Xbox re-create of the game after requesting a refund and even sending the lawmaking for the game to the studio direct.
It's worth noting that the studio could likely request players to either return concrete copies or revoke the licenses for digital copies at a later engagement, and may just be working through an extensive backlog of refund requests.
